Edward Lodewijk ‘Eddie’ Van Halen (born 26 January, 1955) is a Dutch-American guitarist born in Amsterdam, Netherlands and is now the lead guitarist of American hard rock band Van Halen. He later grew up in Pasadena, California with his brother Alex. He is well known for his use of tapping solos and high energy rhythm playing. He is also famous for using the Frankenstrat, a guitar he built using spare parts while he was a teenager. Eddie has a son called Wolfgang, who was born in 1991.
