History[]
Formation and Early Years (2017-2020)[]
Fun While It Lasted was formed in 2017 in South Carolina by Austin Whitney and Connor Temple, and would later recruit Bassist Tony Pack and Drummer Everette Parker. not much was done during this time, however Austin and Connor would write the song, "ur moms a virgin" during this period. Fun While It Lasted's name comes from Connor Temple's grandparent passing. around this time, Austin Whitney began writing more and more songs, many being used on their 2024 self titled EP. In 2019, Austin would return from South Carolina back to Ohio, making him the sole member of the band. after the move, Austin's dad would purchase him a MacBook, aswell as an audio interface.
In 2019, Austin's friend Nathan Marcle would begin helping Austin write songs. Austin would begin posting songs to youtube, and the band's first 2 EP's, "Come Home" and "EP:2" would release.
2021-2022[]
After a very tough relationship in Austin's life, he would release a collection of old demos, which would become "EP-3" in 2022. during this time he would also write "You Can't Claim God If You're a Whore", which lit the fire for him to begin pursuing music full time. in 2022, Austin would begin a job where he was working with a man named Sebastian Humphreys.
Fun While It Lasted, Viral Singles and Upcoming 6th EP (2023-Present)[]
The year prior, Austin had began dating a girl, and during the beginning of 2023 they would split. she would go on to harrass Austin relentlessly which would take a toll on his mental health. Parker would move to Ohio for three months to assist Austin mentally and musically. they woud film skits, covers, and many other things. after a wave of frustration, Austin would write the demo for Love Letter.
in 2024, Fun While it Lasted would drop their 5th EP, a self titled EP which was also their first EP on streaming services. after this release, they would release many other songs, such as "Tom Delonge" which would blow up on tiktok. In November of 2025, the band would welcome Drummer Aaron Hale and Lead guitarist Jeff Boyardi.
In December of 2025, the band would announce a 6th EP, set for an Early 2026 release.
