Nirvana was an American rock band formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. Founded by Kurt Cobain and Krist Novoselic, the band were one of the most known bands of the grunge era and one of the defining bands in the early 1990s. Cobain was found dead of a self-inflicted shotgun wound at his home on April 8, 1994, leading to the disbandment of Nirvana.
