"Twilight" was the second track and second single from the album Time (1981) written and performed by Electric Light Orchestra (ELO). This song follows the previous track: "Prologue".

The song gained cult status in Japan amongst fans of Japanese animation and comics when it was used without authorization as the theme music for the famous opening animation to the 1983 Daicon IV science fiction convention. It also appeared (with authorization and credit) in a 1982 advertisement for the Toyota Celica XX (Supra).

In 2005, the music was used again for a homage to the DAICON IV opening, the animation that formed the opening for the television series Densha Otoko, a series featuring an otaku as the main character (along with several recurring extras). As a result of such uses, the song has become something of an anthem for otaku; since 2008, it has served as the kickoff song for Otakon's AMV contest.[1]

It was used as the finale song in the 2009-2010 Burton Snowboards film "The B Movie" Featuring most of the Burton team snowboarding on a massive "B" built out of snow.
